Billionaire widow Victoria Kane slowly turned around. Her face went white when she saw the seven-year-old child running through the cemetery, soaked from the rain, clutching a dirty hospital bracelet in one hand.
“Get that girl out of here!” Victoria shouted.
Two security guards moved toward her, but Daniel Kane’s younger brother, Michael, raised his hand.
“Wait.”
The girl stopped beside the grave, breathing hard.
“He gave me this last night,” she whispered.
Michael took the bracelet.
His expression changed instantly.
Printed across it was Daniel Kane’s full name.
But beneath the name was something impossible.
The hospital admission time was nearly twelve hours after Daniel had officially been declared dead.
Victoria stepped forward.
“That bracelet is fake.”
The girl shook her head.
“No. He was alive.”
A shocked murmur spread through the crowd.
Michael crouched beside her.
“Where did you see my brother?”
The girl pointed toward Victoria.
“At the old private hospital outside the city. He was tied to a bed.”
Victoria’s lips began trembling.
“That’s enough.”
But the girl suddenly screamed louder.
“He told me someone poisoned him!”
The cemetery fell completely silent.
Michael stared at her.
“Who?”
Tears filled the child’s eyes.
“He couldn’t tell me her name. He only said, ‘Look for the woman wearing red at my funeral.’”
Slowly, every person in the cemetery turned.
Victoria was wearing a bright red coat.
She took one step backward.
Then another.
“You’re all insane.”
Michael grabbed her wrist.
“Why would Daniel say that?”
Victoria tried to pull away.
And then—
from inside the coffin came a faint sound.
Knock.
Everyone froze.
Another knock.
Then a third.
The little girl covered her mouth.
“He told me he would try to wake up before they buried him.”
Michael jumped toward the coffin.
“OPEN IT! NOW!”
The workers dragged it back from the grave.
Victoria suddenly broke free and started running toward the black car waiting near the cemetery gate.
But before she could reach it, the coffin lid slowly lifted from the inside.
A pale hand appeared.
Then Daniel Kane’s weak voice came from the darkness.
“Michael…”
Everyone screamed.
Michael leaned over the coffin.
Daniel opened his eyes, barely conscious, and pointed past him toward Victoria.
“She wasn’t working alone…”
Michael slowly turned.
Victoria had stopped running.
Because standing beside her car was someone Daniel trusted more than anyone in the world.
And when Daniel whispered that person’s name, Michael’s face collapsed in horror…
